This course is used for license renewal and is a 2 credit course that is equivalent to 3.0 CEU's / 30 CPE's.
This course covers an overview of the wastewater treatment process, including racks, screens, comminutors, sedimentation and flotation as well as trickling filters, rotating biological contactors, the activated sludge process, stabilization ponds and disinfection and chlorination.
This class will satisfy the necessary CPEs for Class I, II and II operators who need 20 CPEs for license renewal.

We recommend that you start out by browsing this site to find out what's here. Read over the Course Syllabus. Then start reading through the Lessons, which walk you through the information. Make sure to print your quizzes out once you have completed them. The quizzes, along with the final exam will go into your file in case of future audit.
To take the course for credit, you must register with Mountain Empire Community College. Once you feel comfortable with the information, begin the registration process. (You will still have to fill out the appropriate forms for MECC.) Please read the entire tutorial and follow instructions.
After registration, contact your instructor if you have any problems or need any help in getting started.
We recommend starting with Lesson 1 and working through the lessons in order. Once you understand a lesson, you should take the lesson's Quiz. The course also includes a final exam. All quizzes are open book and open notes and are self-grading.
