Flocculation Basin

After being agitated in the flash mix chamber, water is released into the flocculation/coagulation basin or into the head of the sedimentation basin.  Here, various types of agitators gently stir the water, encouraging the floc to collect together.  At this point, pin (small) floc can be seen forming.
