Activated Carbon
 

Activated carbon is available in both powdered and granular forms and is used to absorb organic compounds from water and wastewater.  It provides a means of removing tastes and odors form drinking water.  Activated carbon works on the principle of adsorption, which is the process of adhering to a surface by a combination of complex physical forces and chemical action.
